Why your leadership team is not executing
Strategy is usually understood. What is missing is ownership, sequence, and follow-through.
Leadership teams that fail to execute can often recite the strategy accurately. The breakdown happens after the meeting, where commitments lose an owner, a date, and a consequence.
Agreement in the room means little. What counts is behavior in the weeks that follow.
Three checks
First, does every commitment have a single named owner? Second, is there a standing point where progress is reviewed in front of peers? Third, does anything actually happen when a commitment is missed?
Teams rarely need a new plan. They need the plan to carry weight between meetings.
